Spiritual Coffee: Be Transformed

Romans 12:2 (NKJV)
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Paul does not beat around the bush here, he says it bluntly. "Do not be like the world!" Paul even gives us a solution on how to not be like the world. Paul goes on to says, but be "Transformed" by the RENEWING of our minds.

Remember when you were a sinner? Remember how your mind was conformed to the world thinking? Picture it like this, your home catches on fire and everything in it, is burnt to a crisp! You than, rebuild your home and it is perfect! White walls, clean carpet, and spotless windows.

Now are you going take that burnt furniture and move it into your, new home, of course not! You buy new furniture and replenish your new home.

This is how our life is in Christ. Once God comes in and moves out the old, nasty,  and stain furniture; we are to replace our old ways, and old thinking, with what lines up with the word of God. The only way to do that, is by reading our bibles, praying and having a relationship with Christ. We rebuild our homes with a new foundation, built on Christ!

Note this verse
Luke 11:24-27 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ 25 And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order. 26 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.”

Notice how the bible tells us, that his house was swept and put in order. When we allow God to come into our lives and clean it up, it is very important to fill ourselves back up with the things of God. We are to guard our heart and mind in Christ; making no room for the devil, by allowing the Holy Spirit to occupy every room in our life!

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord, I thank You that through Your blood shed on the Cross; I am able to come to You and find a new life in You! For the bible tells me that, old things have past away, behold I am new! Lord, I am grateful, that Your grace does not stop there; but by studying Your word my mind is daily renew, with Your thinking according to 2 Timothy 2:15, which states, Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. In Jesus name I pray, Amen
