Growing in Christ: forgiveness brings healing

Luke 23:34 
Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.

Powerful words spoken from such a loving God!

They spat on Jesus!
They accused Him of things he did not do!
They tore his body with each strike of the whip!
They laughed at Him and mocked Him!
They put a crown of thorns on His head!
They crucified our Savior!

In all this, Jesus cried out ...
"FATHER FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY NO NOT WHAT THEY DO!"

Jesus set the bar for us in forgiveness! A height that no man can reach on their own, but only by the help of the Holy Spirit... 
(Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.)

Whenever you find it hard to forgive, remember all that Jesus went through . Remember that The Lord understands... Forgiveness keeps your heart always right with God; for unforgiveness is a tool that satan uses to keep us bond in sin! 

Today as you bow your knees in prayer, check your heart; chose to forgive and let God's love shine through your heart!

Forgiveness and Prayer
25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the cross, for there I have received Your forgiveness for all my sins. Lord those words that You have spoken thousands of years ago....

Still forgive!
Still saves!
Still sets us free!

Lord, we receive Your forgiveness, and we also choose to forgive others; that we may always stand righteous in Your eyes! In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
